Metal Work Should Never Be Overlooked When It Comes To Interior Design!

When it comes to Interior design artisans will make sure every interior aspect has been factored into the transformation, to tie a look together effortlessly. From bigger tasks such as the structural changes to the tiny detailing on the appliances, not one element is over looked.

These days’ ironmongery tends to play quite a significant role within the interior industry. Whether you like the more traditional finishes such as polished stainless steel, or you’re partial to accents of polished copper or brass, you will continually find new and inventive ways to how individuals are incorporating such metalwork in their homes, hotels and restaurants. Said ironmongery can come in a range of different forms including curtain pole fittings, carpet strips and trims, rail fittings, kick plates and also different bar and tube fittings.

Polished Stainless Steel Brass Tube Fittings London

I have recently been renovating my house and I love the idea of using more industrial textures to give a modern perspective to my home. I have particularly used polished copper brass tube fittings in my living room, to match my exposed brickwork on the chimney breast and the wooden floor boards. The remaining walls have been painted optic white so the room feels really modern and crisp.

In the bathroom I have chosen to utilise the more traditional polished stainless steel brass tube fittings for my towel rails, with polished stainless steel accents on the cupboard handles, bath and shower, and also the sink. This is more in keeping with the white porcelain bathroom suite, and the duck egg highlights.

Living in the London area I am lucky that I have had a selection on ironmongers in the city, who provide a range of different metal work. Alternatively if you aren’t so fortunate to have a stockist on your doorstep, I would highly recommend A & H Brass. They have one of the widest collections I have seen, with something to suit everyone’s tastes! Check out their online store today over at https://ahbrass.co.uk/tube-fittings

TRENDING – The Contemporary Bronze Effect vs. Polished Chrome Modern Lighting!

Over decades key industry trends have had major influences to our particular lifestyle tastes. I personally fell victim to fashion when I was growing up, spending all my hard earned money from my part time job on clothes. However since moving out into my own home I am now cheating on fashion with interior design, so much so if I pin any more images on my Pinterest board my app might actually combust.
Polished Chrome Modern Lighting UK
From wallpaper, to soft furnishings, to bathroom tiling and flooring, I can safely say I am hooked on interiors, and who would have thought interior trends change just as seasonally as fashion does?  One of the main trends I simply can’t stop pinning at the moment is different lighting fixtures. Whether its ceiling pendants, flush lighting, or even wall fixtures, the ideas are endless. Current interior trends put emphasis on highlights of rose gold, bronze and chrome signatures, and when it comes to down to lighting it’s no different. Here are two of my favourite interior looks this season incorporating highlights of bronze and chrome:
LOOK 1

There is something really refreshing about polished chrome when it comes to modern lighting. Against an all-white back drop it really shines and gives the room a really clean cut edge. This particular look can be used in any room, however if it’s used in a room that’s not got a lot of access to natural lighting then, this is where polished chrome really makes an impact, through bouncing light around the room.

LOOK 2

My other favourite look is combining raw materials like an exposed brick wall with bronze effect contemporary lighting. The mix of textures together creates a really unique look that is taking the interior industry by storm. By adding a few extra bronze knick knacks to tie in the look, you’ll have one stylish pad. I personally prefer this look in the living room and dining room areas, where there tends to be more natural lighting.

Now you have an idea of some of the key looks of the season, the next bit is the fun part – the shopping! If you’re looking for contemporary lighting in London, you’re definitely in the right place. The city has a range of stockists with such vast collections, however if you’re generally looking for modern lighting in the UK you are more than spoilt for choice as there are so many great brands out there. So what are you waiting for? Give your home the makeover it deserves whilst keeping bang on trend, with details that are forecasted to be timeless.

The Importance Of Choosing The Right Range Of Switches & Sockets

Electrical switches and sockets are widely available in DIY stores, electrical wholesalers and also online. However for the more discerning client who pays more attention to his/her style, design and finish there are plenty of options.

Ranging from screw-less, to flat plate, to more traditional designs with beaded edges or stepped designs, they all available in over 20 finishes. Finishes include brushed brass, dark bronze, polished nickel, and polished copper just to name a few.

Each range is available with any configuration whether it is toggle switches, LED dimmers, USB charging sockets, data outlets or shaver sockets. Any every single configuration is available with the desired metal finish.

This choice is especially useful for high-end renovation projects where the client would like the finish of their switches and sockets to match to their door handles, lights and bath taps for example.

Though we seem to be in the age of the smart home with automated lighting and more and more complicated ways of controlling devices in the home, the humble light switch is here to stay.
